Snap peas, also known as sugar snap peas, are a hybrid of snow peas and garden peas. Unlike flat-podded snow peas, snap peas have plump, round pods with a crisp texture and a naturally sweet flavor.

They can be enjoyed raw or cooked, and the entire pod is edible. However, some pods may have tough “strings” along the seams, which should be removed before eating.

Mangoes

The original wild mangoes produce small fruits with scant, fibrous flesh and it is believed that natural hybridization has taken place and through selection of the hybrids.

The mango fruits are eaten fresh and also produce flavored juice that ranges from sweet to sub-acid in taste. The fruits are also processed into fresh juice, frozen concentrates, mango pulp, sliced, dried, and also bottled as pickles.

Snow Peas

Snow peas is a legume crop. It is a variety of pea eaten whole in its pod while still unripe. Snow peas have the thinner walls of two edible pods variants.

This is the major difference between them and closed related garden peas which lacks edible pods. They are sources of vitamin A and C and is eaten as raw, lightly boiled, steamed or as stir fries.

French Beans

French beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) belong to the Fabaceae family and are bred and cultivated for their pods and seeds. Although the crop has a low consumption rate in the country, it is one of the dominating crops in the export market.

Avocadoes

Avocados are pear-shaped fruits that grow on tropical evergreen trees. They generally have a rough, green outer skin, buttery flesh, and large seed in the middle. The various types available for exports are:- Hass, Fuerte, Pinkerton and Jumbo.

Garden Peas

Garden peas, also known as English peas, are non-edible pod types, and must be shelled before the green orbs within are eaten, either raw or cooked.
